Jalapeno Black Bean Hummus

Hummus2Tonight is taco night (2nd this week) for Seth and me! I decided to jazz things up a bit by adding a side dish and a twist on one of our favorites, hummus. Now there is something about this dang dip that makes me want to stand guard of the bowl with a plate of warm pita chips and a snarl mean enough to ward off any others from my blended beans. Other people see this as weird, so I refrain in their favor.

But, oh, do they get dangerously close to unleashing my hangry (hungry+angry) side.

Ingredients:

1 15 oz. can black beans, drained
3 tablespoons chopped jalapenos
1/4 cup tahini
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
pinch of salt
pinch of ground pepper
cilantro (optional)

 

 Directions:

Blend drained black beans in a food processor until smooth. Mix in other ingredients and blend again. Taste and add more jalapenos to your liking. Enjoy!
